Volunteer Opportunities

CAC Child/Family Advocate

Provides accompaniment and “comfort giving” for children and families at the Children’s Advocacy Center, including initial greeting, orientation, attending to comfort needs, supervising children, providing initial intake and aftercare referrals, among other potential services as requested by the forensic interviewer or other appropriate staff.

Fundraising

Assists in planning and carrying out events to raise funds throughout the year for the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Social Media Support

Assist in providing outreach through social media.

Community Outreach Program

Assists in providing active outreach to the community, to schools, businesses, groups, clubs and organizations.

CAC Office

Assist in clerical work, filing, assembling mail projects, data entry, assisting with set-up for trainings, calls to detectives and others to update case status, etc.

Technical Support

Provide analysis and support of computer systems, including training of staff in computer programs (such as Google Apps, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint).

Advocates must be interviewed, pass a criminal background check ($25), attend all required training events, and adhere to strict confidentiality procedures.
