Congratulations to The Children’s Advocacy Center’s Executive Director and Forensic Interviewer Susy Flores who has received two wonderful awards in recognition of her amazing dedication to the young crime victims of abuse within our communities. Susy’s skills as an administrator, education and interviewer, along with her compassion and commitment to serving these innocent child victims, have had a tremendous impact on the safety, health and well-being to child victims of crime. On March 10, 2018, California Assemblywoman Blanca E. Rubio, of the 48th Assembly District, presented Susy with Woman of the Year – Advocacy. Several staff and board members were on hand to honor Susy, as was her family. On Tuesday, March 27, California Senator Ed Hernandez, of the 22nd District, presented Susy as a 2018 Woman of Achievement and Emerging Leader Award in the area of Public Safety.
The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) is holding its annual Gala on Thursday, September 28th at 6:00 p.m. Special silent auction viewing and registration to start at 5 PM Our theme “Be a Hero for Children” invites you to be one of their heroes by supporting our mission of helping children who have been innocent victims of physical, sexual and emotional abuse. This is our primary fund raiser to benefit these children and their families.
The Gala will be held at the CAC at 1650 E. Old Badillo St in Covina, on the Masonic Home campus. Seating is limited. Guests will be entertained with live jazz music, delicious food, libations and a fascinating program highlighting our cause. Silent and live auction items will be available to further support the children – go home with a valued auction item, or two!
